Session Tips
1. PUNCTUALITY - MOST important . . . BE ON TIME. We VALUE and APPRECIATE your time and we hope you VALUE and APPRECIATE ours. We shoot by appointment only, this allows us to prepare and devote our attention to your session. We often have appointments before and after your session. Punctuality helps us stay on schedule and devote sufficient time to each client. Imagine hiring us for your Moms Birthday Party that starts at 1:00pm. Everyone is there and yells "Surprise!" and we show up at 1:05 and miss that magic moment. So please, recognize 5 minutes matter.
2. CLOTHING- Please be sure to coordinate clothing of all persons to be photographed. Especially with family groups, your picture will look much better if everyone wore plain old jeans and matching T-shirts than everybody in fancy suits and dresses of varying colors, shades and patterns. As a rule, most often solids are better than patterns, especially when more than one person is in the picture.
African-Americans in WHITE is a difficult combination. It can be done, but white is just not the 'best' choice for our varied skin complexions. If you are planing to wear white please give us a call so we can be sure we can have a successful session for you.
3. If young children are not to be photographed please make arrangements for them before arriving for your appointment. We do not have staff to "watch" them and your session will NOT be as good if the photographer is distracted.
4. It is our goal to create unique images for each of our clients. Come prepared to have a fun and creative experience. You don't have to be a model or even LIKE taking pictures just bring a positive attitude and the willingness to work with us . . . We will do the rest.
FAQ's Frequently Asked Questions
Some of our most asked questions are:
What Is CP Time? Often referred to as "Colored People" time. This is a practice which applies to some people regardless of color. CP time is when you arrive for an appointment . . . . whenever, rather than being early or on time. It is a practice based on inconsideration for the other persons time or schedule. We operate on Eastern Standard Time. If we schedule your session for 1:00pm we will be prepared for you at 1:00pm . . . . . WHY? Because we RESPECT your time and we hope you will respect ours and be punctual.
What should I wear?
If there is only one person in the picture, almost any outfit you like will be fine. Solids are usually better and less distracting than patterns however patterns are perfectly acceptable if only one person is in the picture. The clothing you select should reflect the purpose and desire for your pictures.
How should I dress for a professional/business picture?
Typically professionals wear darker colored clothing or suits. Most color tops for ladies are acceptable. The driving force is usage and image. Your attire should be appropriate for your field of work and/or profession.
Can I see my proofs right after my session?
After your session we must download, edit, then upload your pictures to our website. This usually takes about two days after your session. We do have a couple of "quick" products that allow time for you to see your images after a session. Typically these are for clients that need one or two pictures on CD for professional use.
When will my final pictures be ready for pickup?
Once an order is placed it takes a day or two to "finish" your images then it takes about a week to get pictures back from our lab.
Can I get a CD of all my pictures?
We currently do not have a product where clients receive a CD of their images. We are currently exploring a means of providing this service and will hopefully have something available by December of 2009
Why do some of my proofs online look really good and some look darker or not as good?
We typically will "Finish" one or two 'example' proofs so that you can see how beautiful your final pictures will look. Time does not permit us to "Finish" them all. Once you select the pictures you like best, THOSE images will be "Finished" so they look as beautiful as the 'examples" in your proof gallery.
How do I identify which pictures I would like to order?
When you click on the small pics on the left side of your gallery they will appear larger on the right. Just below the picture will be its ID number. Please use this number to select your favorite poses.
